Customer Gallery - Video Game Replica

Video games have come a long way since the 8-bit days of my youth. These days, you can tell what a character's costume is supposed to be made out of, with textures of leather, linen, and silk rendered clearly and beautifully on the screen. I find the artwork for many games to feature some of the most elaborate costumes I have ever seen. If your dream is to go around dressed as your favorite fighter, mage, pop star, or civilian character from a video game, we can help you with that. Take a look at some of the examples of gaming characters I've done for customers.

Recent Projects

2012-2015 Resident Evil, Mass Effect, Vocaloid, Persona, Euclidwood.

Vocaloid Dress of Doom

This turned out to be one my most expensive projects to date, but one of the most beautiful. I called it the Dress of Doom because there was so much detail on it, but it really was a gorgeous two-piece outfit with custom petticoat and sleeves. All of the ruffles were hand-gathered, the taffeta bodice is lined and finished with every last tiny pleat and line of trim on the reference. There is even holographic sticker-paper to make the panels on the sleeves flash and glow!

Costume highlights:
  • purple taffeta skirt and bodice accented with ribbon and cotton ruffles
  • custom teal-blue petticoat underneath!
  • sleeves have sewn-on panels coated in plastic for a shiny hardware look

Demon in a Sly Suit

For this quick costume I completed the coat and undershirt, since the shirt was shown to have very specific details that had to be done from scratch. It's a very stylish coat, done in twills and lined. I always wanted to do this coat, but not for me, so here was my chance!

Costume highlights:
  • coat is fully lined
  • accurate pairs of buttons up the front
  • shirt is custom-made to have the same buttons and side-vents as coat

Persona Streetwear

The most challenging part about this green twill coat was the unique seam detail I saw in the reference pictures. There were a number of superfluous, decorative seams on the sleeves, and I enjoyed the interesting process of figuring out what had to be sewed where to make it look just like the reference!

Costume highlights:
  • lime green twill with black twill accents
  • special seam accents on the sleeves
  • black webbing applique

KOF Cat-suit Fighter

These progress photos show the details of a costume for which I have no full shots (yet!). The coat featured a number of interesting pieces, including appliqued paw designs, special hidden zippers in the sleeves, overlapping front pieces hiding the real zipper, leg warmers with stitching detail, and stuffed ears on the hood with extra hand-stitched detail. It's all about making sure each and every little line, shape, and color featured in the reference material is accurately represented and reproduced to the customer's satisfaction,

Costume highlights:
  • mask is a single plate of sintra plastic, heat-formed, with red lenses mounted on the back
  • invisible zippers installed in sleeves so customer can get her hands out
  • ears are hand-stitched and stuffed
