Customer Gallery - Replica
When fulfilling a desire to dress up as your favorite movie or series character, you no longer have to settle for the $20 plastic sheet and mask from the Halloween store!
When I am asked to do a replica, I undertake all the research necessary to craft the project to the greatest degree of accuracy possible. It really feels good when someone tells you "You look like you just stepped off the screen!" This gallery shows just a small sampling of the screen replicas I have done over the past years.

Duty Blues Uniform
|
For a duty uniform such as this, I went for a wool that matched reference photos of the screen-worn costumes very closely. Most people don't like wool, but for suits and uniforms, it is ideal.
Patches are not provided by SLC, they must be purchased elsewhere and sent for attaching to the uniform. The same goes for "authentic" buttons.
Costume highlights:
- Real suede leather applique on shoulders and sleeves
- Light blue piping on sleeves, collar, and overlap front
- Pants may be requested in matching fabric - please negotiate!

Sci-Fi Cab Driver
|
This costume required a whopping 32 hours of labor to complete. The customer provided excellent references, however, so we managed to make it about 90% accurate. His wife did the pants, but I was responsible for the jacket and shirt.
Costume highlights:
- Lacing on sides, back, and center back goes through fabric loops
- "Vertebrae" up center back made of craft foam sewn beneath pockets
- All pockets, including the right sleeve pouches, are fully functional

Sports Robe
|
The team color contrast design of this style of robe looks really sharp. The back of the robe features a unique pleat above the shortened gore.
Patches are not provided by SLC, they must be purchased elsewhere and sent for attaching to the robe.
Costume highlights:
- High-end quilter’s cotton provides the best drape and brightest color
- Six grommets with leather or cord lacing in front
- Accurate rolled bottom hem and center back pleat with shortened gore to add volume

Elf
|
I am currently in the process of creating this costume. At this point, the shirt has been completed and has details consistent with the screen version (even though these details won't be seen when the entire costume is worn).
Costume highlights:
- Silver embroidered designs on shoulder caps, which are appliqued to sleeves
- Soft leather lacing and silver eyelets run up the underside of both sleeves
- Lapped collar has no visible seam

Black Pilot's Outfit
|
Good reference photos and the right pattern make it possible for me to make these kinds of items.
These shirts require a fair amount of extra tailoring to get an exact fit, with a number of snaps and buttons to make it so the front panel can be worn open or closed.
Costume highlights:
- Black gabardine with silver contrast panel lining
- Vest, stole, and obi optional to add

Robes & Tunics
|
The vast majority of my commission work early on consisted of movie-accurate robes and tunics, along with a few custom pieces for fanfilms and unique fans.
This is just a small sampling of pictures from a few of my customers who wanted to share what their finished costumes looked like.
Please note:
- I have begun to limit my tunic craftmanship because it has become extremely difficult to obtain accurate fabric types and colors
- Strange Land Costuming will now only take robe and tunic commissions if the customer is willing and able to provide the fabric they wish to use
